Personal Statement
I am a design and technology teacher. I have a QTS (since 1998), and I also I have two years experience in teaching physics and computers (GCE A-Levels and O-Levels). I have received my e-learning MSc in e-learning in 2007. For a few years now, I have been involved in e-learning projects with my students. Recently, I have established a virtual multicultural academy (www.classcy.com).
As I have been politically active on peace making projects, the academy aims at promoting peace amongst the two communities in Cyprus and reunification of the island. Sustainable peace can only be achieved if education cultivates tolerance in coexistence and cooperation between the members of the two communities, not excluding love for sharing.
I have met the founder of MirandaNet in a conference here in Cyprus last year and when I heard about MirandaNet I was so surprised for the global embracement of this network.
I would be interested to participate in e-learning projects within this network.
My moto is:
united we stand!
ICT Interests
I am an e-learning specialist. One of my sites has recieved a european e-learning award of ranking to the top 100 websites (out of thousands competing) in 2005.
Last year I was working part time as an instructional designer for a contractor company of the Ministry of Education and Culture.
Recent Projects
I administer the Google groups "unitedcyprus" and "synergasia". The first is a platform of Greek-Cypriot and Turkish-Cypriot teachers and the later is a g/c union of secondary teachers.
Also I administer the www.classcy.com a multicultural online academy. it is still operating on an experimental basis but hopefully soon it will open its virtual gates to the public.
Case Histories
I have an article of the results of my recent thesis that I would like to publish. It is a scoping study for the development of a multicultural online school.
