Personal Statement
My professional qualifications are in Industrial Engineering (1990), a Master degree in Computer Science (1990) and a PhD in Information Technology in Education (1999 - Institute of Education, University of London). Since 1993 I've been working at the Institute of Information Technology in Education at the de La Universidad de La Frontera (Chile).
ICT Interests
My research interests are related to the conceptualisation of educational software as a professional tool for teachers. This implies to design and use software as an aid for improving/facilitating teaching (CAT: Computer Aided Teaching). I am also interested in Distance Education, focusing on teaching models that could be appropriate for training teachers and that use ICT.
Recent Projects
Despite of other research and development projects, the most important project we are in charge of, is the national co-ordination of the Enlaces project, which is the Chilean national initiative for the introduction of Information and Communication to the educational system.
