Vice Principal at the soon to open Westminster Academy, prior to that, Mark was Deputy Head teacher at Chafford Hundred Campus in Thurrock, Essex, a school that is highly regarded for its 21st century vision-in-action. From 2003 to the present day, Mark has led, as a consultant, on the co-development of one of the first fully integrated Managed Learning Environments – Connetix ™ - this platform in addition to possessing all of the data-driven tools that one might expect of an MLE such as e-reports to parents, attendance, behaviour, assessment logs and e-learning resources, has at its heart, a unique, highly flexible and learner centred tool: Individual Learning Planning.

Mark initiated and co-led the highly successful and growing pilot in the use of pocket PCs within the thematic, integrated and competence based curriculum that he help to spearhead at Key Stage 3 at Chafford Hundred Campus.

A panel judge and Fellow of the Teaching Awards Trust, consultant with the SSAT (a member of the SSAT e-team, leading on the e-mentoring pilot in 2004-05), Mark became a Fellow of MirandaNet (author of a published article reflecting students’ attitudes to immersive ICT within their online journal) following his early work in Free State, South Africa with other Fellows in late 2003 (in Bloemfontein) and subsequently hosted an event at The Campus where over 60 teachers, students and advisers visited for several days in January 2005.

Mark also has links with educators and schools in Denmark and China. Mark, a family man, practising Buddhist, NLP practitioner with a degree in Science and a diploma in ICT, recently completed his NPQH and is currently engaged in an MA (Education). His passion for study lies in 21st century “schooling” and particularly leadership within the schools of the future.
