Personal Statement
Primary school teacher, ICT Co-ordinator since 1982. Seconded in 1997 to set up and run the Youth Space, a computer suite housed in a local library. This delivers curriculum ICT lessons to local classes during the day and provides drop in sessions for local young people outside school hours.
Worked as part of Lewisham Advisory Team helping schools build web sites and delivering Inset to teaching staff. Currently Lewisham Education ICT Strategy Co-ordinator. My main role is to ensure the effective implementation of the ICT Strategy developed by the Education and Culture Directorate.
ICT Interests
I am interested in: The creative use of multimedia software within the classroom The use of the Internet Out of hours ICT.
Recent Projects
I am involved with the Lewisham Young Citizens Internet Project. This long running project promotes young people's involvement in their local council's decisions. I provide ICT advice to the Downham and Bellingham Education Achievement Zone and am actively involved in managing a team of Leading ICT Co-ordinators who work in EAZ schools to provide advice and support to their colleagues.
I run a 27 day ICT course for Classroom Assistants which is accredited through the NCFE. I am involved with extending and developing the Lewisham Education and Culture web site. I am a member of the BCS 'Home/School' working party.
