Derek Bartels
Personal Statement
Derek Bartels has held positions of Teacher, ICT Leader, Consultant and Education Officer within Education Qld, Bundaberg TAFE, Lutheran Education Qld, Lutheran Education Australia and Catholic Education over the last 24 years. He is currently the ICT Executive Officer for Lutheran Schools Qld and Australia – 110 Schools Nationwide. His ICT Leadership across many sectors has provided him with much insight and he is still passionate about making ICT an integral part of aspects of the total educational community through collaboration, leadership and innovation. He also currently sits on numerous educational ICT committees around the country including The Learning Federation Colloquium, Independent Schools of Qld ICT Committee, National Lutheran Education ICT Leadership Committee and others . He also enjoys managing Educational Learning Conferences and Events in a way which is outside the norm eg “On Track with ICT – An Educational Conference on the Tilt Train”. His escapes includes cooking and performing in a Rock Band!
