Personal Statement
I am Educational Development Manager at World Ort, an Educational NGO with affiliated schools, institutions and development projects in over 30 countries worldwide. The organisation specialises in Science, Technology and Vocational education. I am based in the Education department of the head office in London where we run cutting edge training seminars for teachers of affiliated schools and oversee and create new and existing educational projects.
Previously I spent 5 years as a Secondary ICT and Computing Teacher working in a large Secondary School in Hertfordshire. In this job I also took on the role of e-learning coordinator where I implemented our school VLE from scratch and also an implementation of Google Documents. I also ran regular training sessions for staff and PGCE students on a variety of topics. I completed my MA in ICT and Education at Leeds University where I researched "What Gets Kids on a VLE and What Difference Does Age Make?"
I am interested in many aspects of ICT in education and Computing in Schools. I am a big fan of networking with colleagues both online via twitter and via unconferences such as MirandaMod and Teachmeet.
