Using Interactive Whiteboards to Transform Learning

Summary

The MirandaNet Fellowship in partnership with Minerva Schoolscape @ Future EU Minerva project and Promethean Interactive Whiteboards has set up a professional development programme for teachers across the UK. During 2003 eight teachers from schools across England have set up, and run, classroom projects using ACTIVboards. Three seminars, held at the Institute of Education, University of London, have provided a learning base for issues involved: using the technology, developing pedagogy, integrating with the curriculum and innovative materials development. In the Autumn Term of 2003 the teachers will present their case studies at seminars at the University of Huddersfield. Briefing packs will be produced for other teachers.

A PDF Brochure outlining the first stage of the project can be downloaded here. Teachers can order print versions of these of these brochures from MirandaNet.

The MirandaNorth page offers more project information, including some detailed case studies.

All the teachers engaged in this project have been creating their professional community of learning and teaching. A website and a series of newsletters have provided a community of practice environment for this group of teacher learners.
