How to make use of the Ejournal site
Exploring the Possibilities
Author: Francis Howlett
Summary:
Here are some ideas for using the editing facilities on the site.
The site has a very nice text editor - which works in all modern browsers on the PC and most browsers on the Mac, the big exception being Internet Explorer on the Mac. Mac users should switch to Netscape, Firefox or Safari.
Good luck!

Professional study: Download my Professional Study
You can add an image to your Professional Study if you have uploaded one, using the Image Name routine. It need not be the same as the image that you have uploaded for your personal page - so you can have a mugshot on the personal page, and a picture of pupils or your school or whatever on this page.
If you have an unusually complex Professional Study, for instance with lots of links and footnotes, you might find it easier to upload it to your space as a file and link it to your Professional Study using the File Name routine.
You can add a number of fancy effects to your professional study, such as Bold or Italic or even underline, by using the editor (but underlining is frowned upon on the web, as it looks like a link). This will give a professional appearance to your text. You must remember to click on the Save button at the end of this form.

Critique:
Your critique could use bullet points:
- First point
- Second point
- Third point.
This is easy using the HTML editor. All the features you would expect are available.
- Text size
- Alignment
- Bookmarks
to mention only the first three that came to mind (using the auto number feature, of course).
Learning:
One thing I have learned just now is that if I copy nicely formatted text (complete with hyperlinks e.g. to MirandaNet as well as the usual bold, italic, underline and funny fonts, you can paste it directly into the HTML edit box, click on ‘Save’ and you don’t need to format it again! Pretty cool – in fact, it's pretty and cool. Just don't forget to Save before you Close or go Back, if you don't want to lose your lovely work.

Just thought I'd add this comment to check that it is working.

Review: This is wonderful stuff, but how on earth are we going to find WMD on the MirandaNet site? If they're not here, then they aren't anywhere. Oops, sorry, please delete this, don't pay any attention, sorry.

Review:
Just thought I'd add an idea or two to this very clever item. In fact, I'm testing the new feature where those with editor rights can add a peer review to any case study at will, without having to go through the left hand menu log-in procedure. Editors can also edit or delete any peer reviews - particularly useful as the Public can add a review and we might not like what the Public write!
Similarly, authors can add any number of peer reviews, and edit or delete their own reviews.

Well done, Francis!
